Jung Scholarship

The Jung Scholarship is a merit award for students whose academic and school record suggests high potential for a career in teaching. This scholarship was established in 2009 through the generosity of Richard Jung (UMSL BA in English, 1973) and his partner Janice Anderson.

Scholarship Criteria

  1. Recipients will be students in the Pierre Laclede Honors College.
  2. Preference will be given to incoming freshmen. However, the scholarship may be awarded to sophomores and juniors.
  3. The recipient will be selected based on academic merit (GPA, class rank, ACT or SAT scores), admission essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities.
  4. In the event of a tie, the award will be based on financial need. As such, applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  5. Preference will be given to students considering careers in primary or secondary education.
