Jung Scholarship
The Jung Scholarship is a merit award for students whose academic and school record suggests high potential for a career in teaching. This scholarship was established in 2009 through the generosity of Richard Jung (UMSL BA in English, 1973) and his partner Janice Anderson.
Scholarship Criteria
- Recipients will be students in the Pierre Laclede Honors College.
- Preference will be given to incoming freshmen. However, the scholarship may be awarded to sophomores and juniors.
- The recipient will be selected based on academic merit (GPA, class rank, ACT or SAT scores), admission essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities.
- In the event of a tie, the award will be based on financial need. As such, applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Preference will be given to students considering careers in primary or secondary education.
