American Association of University Women Scholarship

he American Association of University Women (AAUW) was founded in 1881 by seventeen women graduates from eight colleges with the purpose of “uniting the alumnae of different institutions for practical educational work…and for the maintenance of high standards in education.” Today the Association has 160,000 members nationwide. It is the oldest and the largest organization working to promote education and equity for women and girls. These scholarships are funded by annual gifts from members of the Ballwin-Chesterfield chapter of the AAUW. Besides the financial award, members of the AAUW invite holders to social occasions and provide helpful guidance.
