Physics and Astronomy Alumni Scholarship for Undergraduate Physics Majors (for the Pierre Laclede Honors College)

This award was established in 2010 by the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Its purpose is for the support of a new Honors Student majoring in Physics. The award is provided by the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The full scholarship is renewable for up to four years for students who remain in the Honors College, majoring in physics, and maintain at least a 3.5 GPA.

Scholarship Criteria

  1. Recipients will be incoming freshmen to the Pierre Laclede Honors College who intend to major in, and have declared their major in, Physics.
  2. Recipients will be selected based the the applicants’ school and ACT (or SAT) records. The Committee will be looking for established abilities in science and mathematics.
  3. Candidates will have demonstrated sufficient progress in high school to allow them to begin the Calculus sequence (Math 1800 Calculus I).
  4. Preference will be given to students who are bringing in college credit for Calculus I, whether through dual high school credit, earned college credit, or Advanced Placement credit.
