Nora Farley Ames & David D. Farley Scholarship Program at the University of Missouri System

An endowed scholarship program was established at the University of Missouri System (UM) from the
estate of Nora B. Ames. This scholarship program provides awards that are funded from the Nora Farley
Ames and David D. Farley Education Fund, that is held by the University to serve high school graduates
from Public high schools located in Buchanan, Cass, Clay, DeKalb, Jackson, Johnson or Platte counties in
the State of Missouri. All students who receive funding from the Nora Farley Ames and David D. Farley
Scholarship Program must enroll in 12 or more credit hours each semester; maintain a 2.5 grade point
average the first semester they enroll at an UM campus and a 3.0 grade point average each semester
thereafter; and by the end of the 4th semester, have in writing a planned program leading to a definite
degree signed by the student’s faculty advisor. Initial awards are given to successful applicants who rank
in the upper twenty-five percent of their high school class or have a composite score of at least 24 on an
ACT exam.

Scholarship Criteria

  1. Be admissible to one of the four campuses of the University of Missouri
  2. Have a high school class rank of at least 75% or above or have an ACT composite
    score of 24 or above
  3. Have financial need at the UM campus the applicant will attend, as measured by
    the FAFSA filed that academic year.
